  • The Wonderful World of Capitalism | Cubadebate (English)
piece of news dated two days ago on March 30 could give us some peace of mind It was published by a really well informed media I ll summarize it in just a few words If you were a soccer player and Arab sheik or an executive of a big multinational what kind of technology would make you sigh Recently some famous luxury shops in London inaugurated an entire section dedicated to technology lovers with bulging wallets One million dollar TV sets Ferrari camcorders and individual submarines are some of the fetish to delight millionaires The one million dollar TV set is the crown jewel In the case of Apple the company has committed to deliver its new products on the same day they are launched in the market Let us suppose that we have left our mansion and we are already tired of hanging around with our yacht limousine helicopter or jet We still have the choice to buy an individual submarine or a submarine for two persons The offer goes on to advertise cells with stainless steel casings 1 2 GHz and 8G memory processors NFC technology to make payments through cell phones and Ferrari camcorders Capitalism compatriots is a truly wonderful thing Maybe it is our fault that not every citizen has its own private submarine at the beach It was them not me who mixed up the Arab sheiks and the executives of the big transnationals with the soccer players The latter at least entertain millions of persons and are not enemies of Cuba I should state that very clearly Fidel Castro Ruz April 1st 2012 8 35 p m 4 Comments Make a comment Sam Dudic VivaCompaneroFidel Apr 5th 2012 6 08 As always Companero Fidel is excellent in his insight and viewpoint We in Russia may only envy Cuban people that they were lucky to have such a sincere clever leader as compared to the rotten treacherous corrupt Kremlin rats vasiok008 livejournal com Reply Nco Jansen Apr 9th 2012 11 12 Dear comrade was hapy to see you in a as it seems to us relativ good shape on tv with the pope Allow me to see your essay above as a little light footed where you are looking on the bras armee which a modern state as Cuba is as well has to have in his tools and going back to your opinion on Chrustjovs politics on Cuba in those critical days in the history of your county As I see it this person is the first in a the range of leaders of the Sovjetunion which state via miss Gorbatschov ended under a drunken ape All of them anti Stalin heroes of the West and anti democrats without example in the communist movement Is it not this side of the politics of this man which is the first lesson you have to teach for your broad army of sympathisants in the world Sincerely yours Nico Jansen Reply Nico Jansen Apr 9th 2012

  • A Brilliant and Courageous Statement | Cubadebate (English)
were being taught to train more than 20 000 young Venezuelans who began to graduate as medical doctors Many of them began their studies in our country The internationalist doctors members of Battalion 51 graduates of the Latin American School of Medicine have earned solid prestige in carrying out complicated and difficult missions On these bases my relations in this field with President Hugo Chávez were built I should add that in the course of more than twelve years since February 2 1999 the president and leader of the Venezuelan Revolution has not rested one single day and thus he occupies a unique place in the history of this hemisphere All of his energy has been dedicated to the Revolution One could say that for every extra hour Chávez dedicates to his work the president of the United States rests for two hours It was difficult almost impossible that his health would not suffer some sort of breakdown and this is what happened in the last few months He is a person used to the rigors of military life and he would stoically put up with the aches and pains that were plaguing him with ever increasing frequency Given the friendly relations developed and the constant exchanges between Cuba and Venezuela added to my personal health experience that I underwent since the proclamation of July 30 2006 it is not unusual that I should have noticed the need for a strict medical check up for the President He is far too generous in granting me any special merit in this matter Of course I admit that it was no easy task that I set for myself It wasn t difficult for me to notice that he had some health problems Seven months had gone by since his last visit to Cuba The medical team devoted to caring for his health had pleaded for me to take up the matter From the very first moment the President s attitude was one of informing the people with complete clarity about the state of his health That was why at the point by then of returning via his minister of Foreign Affairs he informed the people about his health up to that instant and he promised to keep them informed in detail Each treatment was accompanied by rigorous cellular and laboratory analyses of the kind that are done under such circumstances One of the tests several days following the first surgery showed results that determined more radical surgery and special treatment for the patient In his dignified message on June 30th the noticeably recovered President speaks about the state of his health with absolute clarity I admit that it was no easy task for me to inform my friend about the new development I could see the dignity with which he received the news that while his mind was dealing with so many important tasks among them the celebrations commemorating the Bicentennial and the formalization of the agreement on Latin American and Caribbean

short time Capote who was also a leader in the Hermanos Saíz Association in the province of Cienfuegos was able to establish relations with the majority of the American diplomats that passed through Havana But as the tasks became ever more complex he received instructions not to make contacts through the Interests Section It was then that he began to be attended directly by two U S nationals living abroad Rene Greenwald a CIA officer who in the 1960s organized terrorist plans against the Cuban revolution and Marc Wachtenheim a CIA collaborator Wachtenheim held among other posts that of director of the Cuban Development Initiative of the Pan American Foundation PADF based in Washington That organization issues the substantial funds made available by the U S Agency for International Development USAID to carry out its plans of subversion against Cuba It was Greenwald himself who recruited Capote in a visit he made to his Havana home where he asked him directly whether he would agree to work for the United States From that moment he was asked to sign his reports as Pablo In almost 40 minutes the documentary sets out irrefutable facts concerning the priority that U S intelligence services accord to the invention of social leaders who would respond to the objectives of Washington Historically the CIA has sought to recruit Cuban citizens on and off the island for its work of espionage and subversion The documentary emphasizes that as part of this policy which has greatly intensified during the past few years intellectuals have become a special target of the interests of the White House In the following two Mondays Cubavision channel will show the last two testimonial programs of the most awaited Reasons of Cuba series Cubaminrex Prensa Latina jfdghjhthit45 Youtube Facebook Twitter Picasa RSS Most
